Does the Library
accept donated materials?
YES--We are happy to accept donations of new and used books, CD's, CD-ROMs, videotapes, and audiotapes.

NO--We will not accept the following kinds of materials: magazines, textbooks older than 5 years, Reader's Digest condensed books, National Geographics, records, and encyclopedia sets that are older than 10 years.
Will the Library
accept all books?
NO--The Library cannot use and will not accept books that are not in good condition, e.g. books with yellowed, musty, water-damaged, moldy or mildewed pages.
What happens to the materials that I donate?
All materials are reviewed by a librarian and checked with our collection requirements and selection guidelines. Those materials not added to the collection are given to the Friends of the Birchard Library who sell them at the Friends' book sale. The proceeds from these book sales are used to assist the Library with special projects.
